Why You Should Wear Foot Shaped Shoes

As obvious as foot shaped shoes sound, most of the shoes you wear today are not foot shaped.
The reason goes back thousands of years when people higher up in the ranks would wear shoes that were pointed in the front just like the towers in their palaces, while the working class was mostly barefoot.

The world did change, but the tradition never did. We still wear shoes that are designed with the same philosophy of being pointed, and being symmetrical for aesthetics.

This is not just a design problem but a true health hazard for a lot of people, especially people who wear shoes for training and excursive activities.

A really important feature of a barefoot shoe is that it is foot shaped. Now all barefoot shoes may not have toe separation, but all barefoot shoes are wider in the toe box.
This allows you to splay your feet wide inside the shoe and actually use those muscles to find good balance, stability and keep your muscles healthy.

A wide toe box is also important to prevent you from developing bunions. This is a physiological change that occurs when the extreme toes, the pinky and the big toe are pushed towards your middle toes and they get deformed permanently causing pain at the joint.

Along with this, this deformation can also become a cause for flat feet.

We at Zen Barefoot are making India’s very first barefoot shoes that are specifically designed for wide Indian feet.

Our feet are one of our bodies most complex and intricate parts that support our body and keeping them healthy is super important.

Try barefoot shoes the next time you’re getting some for yourself and trust me, you would not want to go back to any other shoe ever.
