Barefoot Gym Shoes

India is now seeing a turn in how we look at fitness. Fitness is no more just for bodybuilders, or athletes, it is for everyone. People are eating healthier foods, and working out more. Running, gyming, functional training, have all become a norm.

A big change is also coming in the kind of equipment that we use for our workouts. As we become more and more active, recovery and function have both become super important to avoid injuries and become better athletes.

Footwear is at the center of it. With quick direction changes, heavy lifts, stability and control become super important. The movements we train today in the gym are movement patterns that are a part of our DNA. We have moved in all different ranges of motion as we evolved and our anatomy changed accordingly, especially our feet.

Carrying 50-100 kgs, balancing, creating power, sending feedback to the brain. The foot is one of the most important pieces of the fitness puzzle.
When we put our feet in cushioned shoes however, our natural function gets subdued.

Can’t feel the ground anymore, you won’t have good balance.
Stand on a super cushioned surface and you will end up hitting the ground much harder to get the same force back from it.

Barefoot shoes fix this. Now of course being barefoot is the best. There is a reason why a lot of athletes train and lift heavy barefoot. The control, the proprioception is unbeatable.
But if you are not one to go shoeless in the gym, barefoot shoes are for you.
Thin flat flexible soles, super breathable and lightweight. They mimic your natural function and allow you to do all you can barefoot, while keeping your feet clean and safe.

So next time you’re heading to the gym, give them a spin. Once you do, you will realise there is no going back to your regular sports shoes.
