Barefoot shoes are especially super crucial for women. Women's fashion has exploited anatomy to the maximum. From super fancy stilettos to super narrow flats, women have been wearing footwear that is really destroying their feet.
Barefoot shoes for women are not much different from that of men. The only major differences may come stylistically, and sometimes, they may be a little less wide than those of men for anatomical reasons.
If you are a woman and are looking for training shoes, running shoes, yoga shoes or all purpose walking shoes, we have products for you at Zen Barefoot.
Eventually, we will probably also introduce more fashion wear for your other needs.
But until then, here are some things that you should keep in mind when purchasing barefoot shoes for yourself -
- Make sure it has a wide toe box. Now this is tricky, a lot of people having worn tight shoes all their life may assume they have a narrow foot, however when you spread your toes wide, that is the actual shape you should target when purchasing shoes.
- Make sure the shoes are zero drop. Wearing high heels causes long term posture challenges. Wearing zero drop shoes will slowly help you reverse the damage that has already been done with exercise and mobility workouts.
-
Thin sole. A thin sole will give you the ability to feel the ground you are walking on. This will not only rejuvenate your nervous system but also help you balance better, and strengthen your foot muscles.
Our only suggestion to all women would be to avoid narrow footwear and high heels as much as possible. A couple of hours is okay, but long term use can cause severe postural imbalances and joint problems down the line.
