Why Do Barefoot Shoes Make Sense?
If you think barefoot shoes are specialized shoes only for running or training or specific use cases, think again.
Barefoot shoes are simply shoes that are designed to not come in the way of your natural foot structure and movement pattern.
Which in simpler terms means - they’re covers for your feet that protect you from the elements and that is about it.
Humans have walked the earth barefoot for ages. Then came handmade sandals made from rubber, tree husks and more (which were the original barefoot shoes, I guess.)
Regular shoes that you wear today are the specialized shoes made specifically for a sport, or for fashion. These not only change your gait cycle but also change your entire physiology over time. Feet start looking different, bones and muscles grow in shapes that are unnatural and in effect cause health problems in the long run.
Barefoot shoes have a wide toe box, like our wide toes.
Barefoot shoes have a thin sole so we can feel the ground under our feet.
Barefoot shoes are flexible so our feet can move freely without any restriction.
Barefoot shoes are entirely flat so the foot rests naturally on the ground.
Barefoot shoes are lightweight so our gait remains natural.
Barefoot shoes don’t have supportive cushioning because our feet simply don’t need it.
Barefoot shoes are the only shoes that make sense to be wearing on a daily basis.
It is only in case of playing sports, or being in extreme weathers would we recommend wearing anything else. Those too, preferable foot shaped though.
